Darcy is a Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has spent much of her career working with children, adolescents and families. Darcy is experienced in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health difficulties and developmental disorders. She has a particular interest in working with childhood anxiety, and parent-child relationships and attachment. She also has experience in working with concerns relating to mood difficulties, attentional and learning disorders, autism and social skills deficits, emotion regulation and behavioural concerns.
Darcy has a strong commitment to evidence based practice and is experienced in providing therapeutic interventions using strategies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), attachment therapies, interpersonal therapy, narrative and systemic approaches. Darcy places great importance establishing rapport with all her clients and working collaboratively to establish therapy goals.
In addition, Darcy is a member of the West Australian Autism Diagnostician's Forum Inc. (WAADF) and is experienced in the clinical assessment of autistic spectrum disorders as well as any psychological disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V). Darcy is experienced in facilitation of group therapy programs with parents and children and is a trained facilitator of the Circle of Security program.
